The camp welcomes flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn, although select positions are available for brass in the advanced wind ensemble, 10:00-12:30 daily. Please contact Jennifer Lapple for more information.
Ages range from 10 years old to collegiate level,
with a range of faculty and class options to
accommodate all experience levels and ages.
The Final Showcase Concert is held on the final day
of camp in Harris Theater at George Mason University!
The camp meets daily from 10:00am – 4:00pm at
Trinity Christian School in Fairfax, VA (just down
the road from GMU) making it a convenient location
for students in surrounding areas.
Camp activities include large ensemble playing, instrumental choirs, studio classes, private lessons, and specialized workshops in topics on sight-reading, performance etiquette, solo repertoire, instrument repair, orchestral excerpts (for middle and high school students),
music theory, and more! Performance opportunities include Student/Faculty Afternoon Recitals and Solo and Ensemble Competition.
Faculty range from university teachers,
symphony musicians, and local teachers
and performers from around the area,
exposing students to a variety of
pedagogical approaches and contact points.
The camp features Afternoon
Faculty/Student Recitals providing
opportunities for students to perform
solos and chamber selections with one another, as well as with faculty to further their understanding of the art of performing.
